Lisa was this increadible girl who had a love for WSU beyond measure. Even when she was sick with cancer, being treated with Chemo, and going through her own personal struggles, she reached out. I never knew her, but I sence she was amazing.
Each year the WSU Student Associtation gives an award in her name to a student who has shown the passion and dedication she did. As I listened to Kari Peterson read the story about her I could feel Lisa's pressence among us. What a sweet spirit she must have been. When Kari read my name, I wanted to colapse and cry. It was such an honor to be recognized in such a way by the professional staff of the WSU Student Association. I still wonder if it is a dream and know I wonder what it must have been like to work with Lisa. What an increadible person.
I have also been honored to have been nominated for Crystal Crest in the categories of Woman of the Year and Volunteer Service. This is increadible because it is an honor from peers at WSU. I have been selected as a top five finalist for Woman of the Year. It is amazing to be recognized with such a high calibur of women. While I don't know all of the women, I can only imagine how bright and intelligent they must be.

Wee-haw!
Things have been really crazy this last month. Elections came and went with continued apathy toward the democratic process. About the only excitement were appeals and a little bit of mud slinging. Peter Owen won, and rightfully so for playing a fair game. It was from the other side things were made ugly. I think he will do a marvelous job and represent WSU well.
Our Relief Society has begun to play indoor soccer. Last week we got our trash kicked by old women (we being the Young Single Adult ward). But I guess it does help when you are a stay-at-home mom and have time to get together and practice. We played a team I dislike last week and I think it is because they are so whinny. But, oh well. Today we all had a good time and were very sportsmanship like with each other. Yes, there was competition, but we were still cordial. And, yes, we lost again. But we made a better showing today!
It is strange to think I have only four class days left of my undergraduate career. The following week I have four projects to present and then I walk accross the stage. WOO-HOO! In a way I am sad to see WSU go, but now I am excited for the unknown and the future.
Tonight I thought about how there are all these dates in our lives as I watched this pregnant lady. When we are little the date is when we move from grade to grade, or school to school. Then, it becomes our day we get a drivers license, turn 18, graduate, etc. Those who move onto college look forward to the day they no longer have to pay tuition and get that four-year diploma. Somewhere in the mix of things is marriage, the day your children are born, when you buy your first home, etc.
Our lives are surrounded by days and times. While we may want to escape the fact the world passes us by each day, we can't. In a day of technology, we are ruled by calendars and deadlines. In a way, it is really exciting and in a way it is scary. The one unknown is when we will breathe our last breath on this earth. Are we ready to face our Maker and account for what we have done in the span of our years on earth. Are you ready?
I am greatful to my Heavenly Father who gave his Son, Jesus Christ, to come to this earth and help show us the way. Christ taught us charity; showed us that the only way back to the pressence of God is through baptism by the proper authority; teach that the gift of the Holy Ghost is the most important thing we can have in our lives; and teach us we need to be perfect like He was.
There are laws we must follow to return to the pressence of God. He has restored His church in these days by giving us a prophet, pure scripture and the Church of Jesus Christ again on the earth. This is the only gate which unlocks the doors of heaven.
God's love is a pure love and we must jump at every opportunity to reach out to Him, and also extend His love to those arounds us.
