Art

"Art isn't something we use to mirror society, it is a hammer we use to shape it."

I heard this last night and I thought how profound it was. Art is what we use to shape the society we live in, whether it be through a hammer and chisle or a film reel. We create what others don't, leaving a mark on the place where we were.

So many people have spoken out about various issue through various mediums. It is what sets us free and allows us to express ourselves. As the hammer shapes our lives, we must chose those hands that guide it.

Art is something I enjoy in its many forms. I may not always agree with it, but it makes us think. The gears turn and we can decide what does and doesn't turn us on. The important part is that it gets us thinking and helps us to leave the bubble we reside in.
