Beauty has many faces

Jackson Hole was a blast. I will post the pics when I get them uploaded. Although I did not spend a lot of quality photographic time this trip. I was with a group and that makes it difficult to do.

One morning, however, I got up early for a run. I ran all the way from Wyoming to Idaho! Huge! Anyway, I sat on a guard-rail along the highway and watched the sun paint the sky and the small lake below. It was beautiful. I was there for about 15-20 minutes and people probably wondered what I was doing when the drove by.

I ran back to camp and later on I went to the Tetons for the first time. We hiked up to Hidden Falls, which was gorgeous. I really wanted to go play in the water, but it was barred off. Perhaps another time early in the morning when there is not so many people around.

We then hiked up to Inspiration Point (elev 7,200 ft). The point looks out over Jenny Lake and off into the east. It was early afternoon, so the sky was not a cooperative blue for taking pics. Chipmunks came up to us as if they were going to crawl up out legs and take the food out of our hands (one of the unfortunate side effects of humans on nature).

The only thing I struggled with was I had a story I was following and being away made it difficult to do. But I picked it up when I got back in to the office and in the end police officers and fire fighters got an olive branch of sorts.

The Ogden City Council unanimously voted to recind and ordinance that made it more difficult for them to get merit increases. The council also voted in favor of creating a work-group to re-vamp the negotiation process for upcoming events. A smart move to avoid future contentions.

Although, I am not sure this is the end of it...
